Denver
has been working in quality, health, safety, environment (QHSE) and
risk consulting across Asia,
Australia
, Europe, the Middle East
and North and
South America
,
since
1987. He is
focused on the development and
implementation of risk management strategies for the effective management of QHSE and other business risks in the energy and
infrastructure sectors.
He has held several senior risk management positions in both operating companies and consulting environments for the
chemical, petrochemical, and oil and gas industries. More recently he has been providing enterprise loss prevention and business
transformation services (senior level
facilitation, business process prioritization and standardization,
workflow analysis, and implementation across the enterprise) for
several of the super major oil companies.
Denver
is a graduate of the University of Toronto where he obtained a
Bachelor’s Degree in
chemical engineering, a Master’s
Degree in hazard control engineering, and
a PhD in risk engineering. He has presented more than 30 papers in
risk management, reliability, LNG, business risk, and dust
explosions.
In
1989 he co-founded a risk engineering consultancy in
Australia
and
expanded it to a high value international HSE operation with five offices in South East Asia,
Australia
and
South Africa
, and exited via an
M&A with a Fortune 500
U.S.
based insurance
company.
Denver also co-founded a successful risk management company delivering risk-management safety services to the Australian coal mining
industry, and provided methodologies for their use in the
UK,
Africa and
China
.
His
childhood saw him across such different places as
Trinidad and
Tobago,
and
Canada
. His working
career started in
Australia,
where he met his wife, and
progressed through
Malaysia
where his kids
were born. He is currently working for a multinational organization
based in
Houston,
Texas,
where he lives with his wife and two children… and
their three dogs –
Meg,
Cocoa
and
Rusty.
